Our Annual Classis Lake Superior Youth Retreat is a weekend for students in Grades 8–12 to step away from everyday busyness. It’s a chance to spend intentional time growing in their faith alongside other youth from across our Classis. Over the weekend, students will take part in engaging sessions, meaningful conversations, and times of worship together.
The retreat is designed to create space for students to ask honest questions and build real, lasting connections. Throughout the weekend, students will be encouraged and challenged as they continue growing in their walk with God. With a mix of structured sessions and shared experiences, students can build friendships and be part of something bigger.
Retreat Details
Theme: The theme for our retreat this year is Light, focusing on Gospel of Matthew 5:13–17. Throughout the weekend, we’ll explore what it looks like to live out our faith in a way that is real, visible, and impactful. Our hope is that students leave encouraged, challenged, and ready to shine their light in everyday life.
We’re also excited to have Rick Zomer leading us as our speaker throughout the retreat.
Location: This year we will once again be returning to Camp Arnes for our retreat weekend together. Located on the shores of Lake Winnipeg, it offers an ideal setting for a memorable and engaging retreat experience. The camp features a wide range of activities that bring both excitement and opportunities for connection throughout the weekend. These include high ropes, zip lining, archery, a giant swing, and plenty of space for group games. With its mix of adventure, natural beauty, and well-equipped facilities, it creates an environment where students can connect and fully engage.

- Who: Students in Grades 8–12
Dates: May 15–18, 2026
Programming will wrap up Sunday evening, with breakfast provided on Monday, May 19 for those traveling home that day. - Cost: $250 per student, $210 per leader (before May 1st). After May 1, the student price increases to $275 per student.
This includes lodging, meals, and all activities for the weekend. - Leaders: Each church is asked to send one leader for every five students to help support and supervise throughout the weekend.
