Position Summary
Covenant CRC is prayerfully seeking a Lead Pastor who will provide spiritual leadership, preach and teach God’s Word faithfully, and shepherd the congregation with wisdom, humility, and compassion. The Lead Pastor will work collaboratively with council, staff, and ministry leaders to nurture spiritual growth, equip members for ministry, and help guide the church.
Key Responsibilities
Preaching & Worship
- Proclaim the Word of God through biblically grounded, Reformed preaching
- Provide leadership in planning and conducting worship services
- Administer the sacraments in accordance with CRC practices
Pastoral Care & Discipleship
- Provide pastoral care, and spiritual guidance to individuals and families
- Equip members for discipleship and spiritual growth
- Encourage prayer, faith formation, and Christian living across all ages
Leadership & Vision
- Work collaboratively with council, and ministry teams
- Help discern and articulate God’s vision for the church’s mission and future
- Support and mentor staff
Community & Outreach
- Encourage engagement with the local community and broader Winnipeg context
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive church culture rooted in Christ’s love
- Represent the church within the Christian Reformed denomination and ecumenical relationships
Qualifications & Experience
- Ordained or eligible for ordination in the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA)
- A deep and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ
- Strong preaching, teaching, and communication skills
- Demonstrated pastoral heart and relational leadership style
- Commitment to Reformed theology and CRC confessions
- Experience in congregational leadership preferred
Compensation & Terms
- This is a full-time position
- Compensation and benefits will be commensurate with experience and in keeping with CRC and Canadian guidelines
